visual medicine: dialoguing with paint

Visual Medicine™ is an innovative spiritual creative practice developed by painter and writer Suzette Clough, which opens up a deep conversation with yourself through working with paint in a radical and unpremeditated way. It offers the surprise and joy of simply playing with paint, harnessing the power of spontaneous creativity and the unconscious. Yet it also opens a gateway into a dialogue with the paintings themselves through writing and self-enquiry and through conversation, which can be extra-ordinarily supportive, profound and revelatory.

While there are some parallels to art therapy, this practice seeks to foster a dialogue with our inner guide, manifested through the paintings, the innate power and wisdom of our imagination and creativity which Clough conceives of as the oracular mind, rather than focussing on the relationship and dialogue with the therapist.
